Phuket is a large island in Thailand just one hours flight from Bangkok. Phuket is known for it's pleasant weather during the European winter months. Phuket's west coast is full of beaches such as Patong Beach, Karon Beach, Kata Beach, Kata Noi Beach, Kamala Beach, Nai Harn Beach, Nui Beach, Bang Tao Beach, Laguna Beach, Laem Sing Beach, Surin Beach, Tri Trang Beach, Freedom Beach, Rawaii Beach, Chalong Beach, and many many more.
Phuket is also know for it's incredible nightlife. Although far tamer than it once was it still ranks among south east asia's best. With high calibre discos such as Sound, Seduction, Hollywood, Bananna, Safari, D Club, Baya Beach, Hard Rock Cafe, Rock City, Tai Pan, Tiger, and many beer bar sois. In Patong all of this nightlife action revolves around Bangla Road however there are many other hot and smart spots to be found around the island.
Dining wise be prepared to gain a couple of pounds patronizing the diverse range of foods found in Phuket. You can find barbecued seafood or fresh fruit and roasted coconut juice from street vendors or anything else imaginable from the hundreds of restaurants scattered across Phuket Island.
Plenty of affordably priced accommodations can be found in Phuket.Cheap guest houses with basic rooms are available from 500 per night and large hotel chains offer rooms on or near the beach for around 3000.
If you find yourself tired of sunning herself on the beach you will have no trouble finding other things to do around Phuket. Elephant trekking, bungee jumping, go carting, snake shows, water parks, paint balling, motocross riding, jungle canopy tours, Long tail boat rides to private beaches, the big Buddha viewpoint, live music, wake boarding, parasailing, jet skiing, rock climbing, horseback riding, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, and the list goes on and on.
